Being trans in the Czech Republic: Ema’s Story

We met young Czech transgender activist in a common project called East West Bridges which aimed to connect and educate people related to the LGBTQI population from the V4 region (the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic, Hungary and Poland) and the so-called Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine).

Ema introduced the work of the queer organisation called “Transparent.cz” and her experiences during her coming out.

Luckily, her mom was always helpful and supportive towards her, but her sister didn’t know what to do with the situation. The sister was afraid that her children won’t understand even more what is going on with their family member.
